Mission The Office of Emergency Services is the emergency management agency for Plumas County. We coordinate the planning for, response to, and recovery from natural and human-caused disasters.
The vision of a safe and resilient Plumas County depends on effective leadership and meaningful partnerships. In these ways, the Office of Emergency Services strives to protect lives, minimize property damage, and assists individuals and communities more quickly recover from the effects of a disaster. Nick Dawson serves as the Assistant Chief for OES. In addition, we have project funding for a Fire Prevention Specialist. Sue McCourt works on a variety of projects with local communities, including the Plumas County Fire Safe Council, Firewise Communities, and evacuation planning.
